The Bull City Arts Collaborative (BCAC) is a shared artists' workspace founded by Kenny Dalsheimer and Dave Wofford in April 2006. Located at 401 Foster Street in the Central Park district of downtown Durham, our custom designed 1,800 square foot space features four work studios, a foyer gallery, and a shared workshop/meeting space.
Currently, the BCAC houses the documentary and video production studio of The Groove Productions, the graphic design and letterpress shop of Horse & Buggy Press, the fine arts, motion picture and design studio of Revere La Noue's Light Rain Media, and the song and bookwriting office of John Darnielle.
We have open studios on the Third Friday of every month from 6–9 pm as part of 3rd Friday Durham. We open during the Durham ArtWalks in April & November, Centerfest in September, and the Full Frame documentary festival in April.
The Upfront gallery features the work of local and national guest artists in a diverse range of media. Additionally, BCAC members are involved with special events around town including workshops, art shows, literary readings, and film screenings.
Many of our projects involve partnership and creative collaboration with others artists, businesses, schools, and organizations. We welcome ideas and proposals – including interdisciplinary and community-based projects – from other artists and organizations.
